Eagle Lugging a Deer Head Causes Outage

Yuck! Whn I was a senior in high school we all skipped one day & went shopping for our senior banquet. On the way home my friend was driving & overhead was a crow or something of size carrying a rabbit in it's claws with difficulty & ended up dropping it on the hood of her car! It was gross,we were all trashed to top it off!:yow1:

That is awesome, the eagle probably killed the deer too.

No!
Eagles are scavengers.
A car more likely killed it!

"A bald eagle's lifting power is about 4 pounds. They do not generally feed on chickens or other domestic livestock, but they will make use of available food sources. Bald eagles will take advantage of carrion (dead and decaying flesh). Because of its scavenger image, some people dislike the bald eagle. Other people do not care for powerful and aggressive birds. Still other people object merely on the grounds that it is a bird of prey, which kills other animals for food."

I have to dispute the info above regarding their lifting power.
I have seen with my own two beady little eyes bald eagles swooping down and snatching salmon right out of a river in Galcier Nat'l Park in Montana, and those salmon were WAY bigger than 4 pounds. Occassionally, they would get one that was too big for them and they would have to drop it, but those were 20+ lb salmon. They were routinely taking off with salmon that had to weigh at least 12-15 lbs., maybe larger.
Also, because this source says they will take advantage of carrion, that does not make them "scavengers". They kill plenty of their food. If an eagle or a large hawk wants to f*** you up, then you're going to get f***ed up.

Something in the water in Montana!

It is absolutely true that eagles scavenge for most of their food!
It's easier than hunting and they are not picky (pun) in the least.

I live in bald eagle country.
