Thoughts and prayers to the family of Mr. Ream

Charlie Ream, 96, believed to be the oldest living former Ohio State player, died Aug. 21 in Bexley after a yearlong illness, his family said. Ream, an end who lettered on the 1935, '36 and '37 teams under coach Francis Schmidt, will be honored with a memorial service Oct. 1.

Ream was taken in the ninth round of the 1938 NFL draft by the expansion Cleveland Rams. He played just one season.
