Ohio State has received a Letter of Intent from verbal commitment Dwayne Haskins. Haskins is a 6’3” 200 pound pocket passer out of Maryland. Rated as the seventh best pro-style quarterback for the class, 24/7 Sports has Haskins as a four-star quarterback utilizing their composite ranking.
As longtime Ohio State fan, it was a little bit of a shock when Haskins initially committed to play football for the home state Maryland Terrapins but the Buckeyes refused to give up hope on bringing Haskins to Columbus. Finally just two weeks ago, all of the hard work on Haskins paid off for the Buckeyes as Haskins flipped his commitment from Maryland to Ohio State.
It's been a dream of mine to play for Ohio State since I was 8 years old. In my heart I'm a Buckeye. #BuckeyeNation pic.twitter.com/OeMxqd3BRV

Haskins joins a quarterback room which knows who their starter will be next season, J.T. Barrett. The real battle will come down to who will be the back-up quarterback which has played a vital role for the Buckeyes under Urban Meyer. Sophomore Stephen Collier is the presumed back-up but freshmen Joe Burrow, Torrance Gibson, and Haskins will all be battling it out in spring practice.
