blissfully stupid
ive been recording tOSU games for a few years now. since dvr i have been editing out the commericals when recording to vhs. well... vhs is going the way of the dinosaur and id like to switch to dvd. the fact that i can't find anyone who actually sells vhs tapes anymore "might" be affect my decision slightly. i know i can just hook up a dvd burner and go to town. however, id really rather not go back to recording commercials. so im trying to figure out a way i can dl the games i currently have on the dvr onto a pc so i can edit out the commercials then burn to dvd. seems as though our wonderful friends at tw are less than helpful in this regard. but im wondering if something like this would work:
ADS DVD Xpress Converter
Video Xpress USB 2.0 Video Capture
my dvr has an s video out and im thinking with the right video capture software i can simply plug n play... errr.. edit n burn. it notes is maximum resolution is 720X480. definitely not in the know... but this is standard dvd (not hd) quality correct?
has anyone used something like this in the past? any opinions recommendations? is the quality of the finished product worth the effort? the reviews ive found seem promising though somewhat limited...
edit: my graphics card doesn't have tv in. i would consider buying a new graphics card but... thats a little more expensive option than i was hoping for.
