What happened to my ¤cash?
I searched and found a number of old DVR related threads but did not see an answer to the question that I'm going to ask.
That said, I also thought that it would be good to have a single thread for DVR related questions / issues so I started a new thread. Please feel free to clean up my mess if you mods would like to merge back with an older thread.
So, here's my question:
DTV pissed me off pretty good on a service call last night. They botched an install such that now I have a switch swinging in the air hanging off my dish. A storm over the winter blew it free and now they want to charge me $50 to come out and "move" it. Honestly, $50 isn't a big deal and even then they offered to "split the cost" of the move... but now I'm too pissed to really care. At over $100 per month for pushing a signal to me (read: little marginal cost), I'm highly profitable for them and have been for many years. If they can't figure that out, then Ef'em.
So, we're ATT customers for POTS, ld, broadband and mobile. Why not switch to Uverse?
Some of the things that I'd like to know before I pull the trigger on this is if the current ATT DVRs can either handle an external drive or if they can be popped open and have the drive replaced. I have a 1.5 TB drive on my DTV DVR now and I really think that I would have a hard time having anything less than that as I like to keep the entire tOSU season on the DVR and go back and watch during the off season.
Anyone out there know anything about expanding the Uverse DVR drive capacity?
Thanks in advance!
