See, that's the problem with new Orleans, I'd weigh 400lbs in no time. Breakfast at Elizabeth's, bananas foster pancakes with a side of praline crusted bacon for breakfast, a mid morning snack of gumbo or crawfish bisque, a muffaletta for lunch, various sweets during the afternoon and then maybe some kind of pecan crusted fish in a rich cream sauce for dinner, more ice cream and maybe some strawberry shortcake for dessert not to mention all of the alcohol. After spending a week there by the time I come home none of my pants fit me.Gatorubet;1934979; said:I just had a caramel centered chocolate cake with coffee and chicory flavored ice cream (with about 25% butterfat) over home made caramel corn - with a double espresso.
Now the battle begins: get sleepy from the rich dessert - or go into tachycardia from the coffee.![]()
(Knowing this was in my future, no breakfast today)
Ohio roads grind to a halt with steady rain or a mild dusting. Snow storms keep Family Radio employed.Gatorubet;1935469; said:How many times couldn't you leave town after a snow storm? :p

That's a shame, I went to middle school in Jackson county and it was the best three school years of my life.muffler dragon;1935531; said:I was waiting for Oregon to be in the bottom 10. The state spends in the top 10% on education and produces in the lowest 10%. Sad.

What I liked is they just didn't have PE. You could choose from a variety of PE classes like weight training, recreational sports for the nerds (stuff like badminton) and depending on the season they had flag football, soccer, softball, wrestling and another program called Fitness For Life for the runners. It was a freaking Jr High and they had a variety of shop classes like wood, metal and plastic. They also had a variety of social studies and science classes, it wasn't just one bundle of generic goods, you could choose the class that most interested you. The only bad thing was the school didn't have hot lunches, you had to brown bag it everyday and that was a period in my life when my father was at the peak of his psychosis, we had no money and there were many of days that I had nothing to eat.muffler dragon;1935539; said:My daughter attends a great elementary school, but that is because the Principal cares so much. As I understand it, Salem-Keizer school district is pretty decent. I'm not sure about the outlying areas in the state, but I know that Portland blows chunks.
