DT Tyleik Williams (All B1G, All-American)

Absolutely and we are going to need Tyleik and Hall at their best on Saturday to slow down Singleton and Allen. Don't need to necessarily make a ton of tackles, but eat up the middle and let the others get to the runner.
I think that this may be a Cody Simon type of game as well. He is playing at a high level right now against the run. Put in Chambers in obvious passing downs but we need Cody against the run.

Tyleik and Hall rely on their athleticism..they need to penetrate and tackle the RBs in the middle. They are not the 700 lbs of ass like Keith Traylor/Ted Washington that chewed up guards and centers.

Two of Ohio State’s top three defensive tackles from this past season have now announced their NFL draft decisions as Mike Hall announced that he would forgo his final two years of eligibility and enter the 2024 NFL draft. Ty Hamilton has not yet announced whether he will stay at Ohio State for his fifth-year senior season or enter the 2024 draft.

Other defensive tackles vying for playing time at the position for Ohio State in 2024 will include Hero Kanu, Kayden McDonald, Tywone Malone, Jason Moore and Will Smith Jr. The Buckeyes also added three-star recruit Eric Mensah in the class of 2024.

Really huge, we needed one DT to return and hopefully Hamilton joins him. Hamilton could benefit from more exposure with Hall gone. Glad to see this news regardless.

I’d think that Williams coming back means there’s a good number of others opting back in as well. If a ton were going pro I’d think Williams wouldn’t want to stick around for that.
