Game Day!!!
I've got a couple of questions for grad...or anybody else that can answer me. Cotton leaving us will hurt our APR rating, correct? If a player, such as Jordan, is done because of injury, does that hurt our APR rating?

If someone leaves the team because of injury, then they do not lose their scholarship, so if they stay in school (why wouldn't they take the free education since their football career is over), then I don't think that would count against us.
Sad to hear Cotton is no longer on the squad...I was hoping for him to start getting some meaningful PT so we could see LeBron in the Shoe rooting on the Buckeyes.

Both of his parents have indicated he will transfer to another school, I'm not an expert but I would think that would mean he will not hurt our APR rating.

I believe this will hurt the team's APR:

The APR is calculated by allocating points for eligibility and retention -- the two factors that research identifies as the best indicators of graduation. Each player on a given roster earns a maximum of two points per term, one for being academically eligible and one for staying with the institution. A team's APR is the total points of a team's roster at a given time divided by the total points possible. Since this results in a decimal number, the CAP decided to multiply it by 1,000 for ease of reference. Thus, a raw APR score of .925 translates into the 925 that will become the standard terminology.

I still can't believe Cotton didn't see the field more. I was a freshman when he was a senior at svsm, and he was a beast. He wasn't the best student or the most motivated worker, but man was he athletic. He used to pull some pretty sweet moves on the basketball court as well. He'll always be one of my favorite players. He's also incredibly nice. When I was in seventh grade, he guided my class around svsm. He was cracking jokes and signing autographs the entire time. I sure wish it would have worked out for him. Would've been cool having two alums starting on the same Ohio State Dline.
You're right about Lebron though, he still supports everyone he went to school with. Incredible how well grounded he is.

NORTH CANTON Sian Cotton was on the couch four long months waiting for his injured foot to heal. That wasn't as difficult as the next two months ? the time it took the Walsh University defensive lineman to start walking again.
What must have felt like an eternal wait to return to football is finally over for Cotton. The close friend and high school teammate of LeBron James is seeing his first action since 2005 and getting stronger every day after an accident last year interrupted his comeback.
"Being on the couch for four months changes your perspective about life in general," Cotton said. "Just being back out on the field, just being able to be out here with my teammates and having fun playing the game is ... words can't explain."
Cotton was attending Youngstown State but thinking about transferring to Walsh to play football last year when his comeback came to a halt. He clearly remembers the date ? Aug. 3.
"I was out with my friends, me, LeBron, basically the 'Fab Five,' and we were out on these go-karts ... I don't even know what they really are," Cotton said. "We were playing water guns. We were driving around. I flipped mine over and cut my foot."
