?What we saw on tape in terms of a guy with quickness and an ability to play the run ? I think that?s going to really help us,? Dungy said. ?We?re going to look to develop a little more of the pass rush (from Pitcock) and I think playing our system is going to help him.
?He?s very smart. He?s a tough, hard-working guy with the quickness and strength you look for, so we?re excited to have him.?
More importantly, Pitcock said he believes the Colts? one-gap style of defensive line play ? a style that emphasizes penetrating the line and rushing the quarterback ? fits him perfectly.
?I think I?ll do better here than I did in college,? Pitcock said. ?There?s a lot more freedom to do more. College was more of a stuff, run, start, stop the run, then pass rush: stop the run first, then react. There?s a lot more freedom here.
?I think it?s a great fit. The more I?m in the meetings, my grin turns into a smile. I?m ready to go. I feel like I fit perfect. I think it?s going to show off what I can really do.?
As of 3 p.m. Sunday, eight of those picks were under contract and should be ready for the start of today?s two-a-day training camp workouts.
The lone question mark revolves around former Ohio State defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock, who was selected in the third round by Indianapolis. Pitcock, however, still needs to pass his physical before his contract negotiations can be completed. That is expected to happen some time this morning.
STILL QUESTIONS: Third-round draft pick Quinn Pitcock, a defensive tackle from Ohio State, still has not passed his physical.
Pitcock signed Sunday, but until he gets medical clearance, the Colts won't bring him into camp. Dungy isn't sure when Pitcock might arrive.
"I understand that he's getting closer to being 100 percent, but he's not there yet," Dungy said. "It's in the hamstring or quad area, I'm really not sure what it is."

All of the Indianapolis Colts' 2007 draft choices have reported to training camp with the exception of their third-round pick ? defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock ? who has not passed his physical.
The unspecified injury is reportedly not career-threatening but something that the player must work through. The former Ohio State player has been rehabbing the minor injury in an effort to join his teammates in camp. Word is Pitcock could report to camp in a matter of days, if not sooner.
In another personnel matter, rookie defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock, a third-round draft pick, apparently has signed his four-year contract. Dungy said he believed Pitcock finally passed his physical and would be ready to practice starting today.
Rookie defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock, a third-round draft pick from Ohio State, could fill in. Pitcock practiced for the first time Monday after missing the first week of camp with a leg injury. Dungy also said rookie defensive end Keyunta Dawson will get a look.
Pitcock arrives ? The much awaited arrival of the 6-foot-2, 299-pound Pitcock couldn?t have come at a better time. With the loss of McFarland for the immediate future, the former Ohio State defensive lineman could provide some much needed bulk inside.
?He just got out there. He looked pretty good,? Brock said. ?He looked like he played the run pretty well. So once we get him up to speed, he?ll be alright.?
Pitcock was happy to be back on the field after spending the last week waiting to pass his medical physical, sign his four-year contract and get back on the practice field. He was first injured working at the National Football Scouting Combine in February and tweaked the hamstring during the Colts? spring mini-camps.
?[McFarland?s injury] is unfortunate. But from the beginning, I wanted to play as much as I could. I wanted to be on the field no matter what,? he said Monday. ?[Sunday] night, I was having a hard time sleeping. I was picturing all the plays I could make. But once you get in there, it?s so much faster than in my mind. I was just a little rusty. I hadn?t played any true football since the Senior Bowl [in January], so I?m a little behind.?
Dungy was pleased to see Pitcock to practice.
?Quinn did a good job for his first time out. I told him that it was good to see him. For a while we thought he was one of those super hero action figure guys that you heard about but you never really saw them in person. And it was good to see that he was a real person,? the Colts coach joked.
n Speaking of size ? Brock said that even without McFarland in the defensive lineup, the Colts still had some size up front to clog things up.
?We got some big guys. You?ve seen [rookie] Big Ed [Johnson]. Darrell Reid?s big. [Dan] Klecko?s kind of short but he?s big,? he laughed.
