I'm going to have to go back and watch again. Obviously with a house full of people I didn't get to pay as much attention as I would have liked... but if what you say is true (not doubting), he must have struggled hard and early. I can't say that I saw him on the field much at all.

It seemed to me that Hankins was the only player not getting pushed back consistently. Even when Hankins would get knocked down, he usually clogged the lane. My recollection might be off, but I thought Hankins pretty much played the last 3 quarters, and thought our line performed much better overall as a result.

I love John Simon as a player, but I thought our best interior line combination against Wisconsin was having Hankins in along side of Larimore - 2 really wide bodies. There is just a sheer difference in body mass there.

Go back and watch the game, Hank wasint getting blown off the ball like the rest of the line. I think Hank will be good, but he shouldent start over dex. Once he gets in a offseason of lifting and conditioning this kid will be ready to be a full time starter. But he still has work to do. He shoulda played more from the start against Wisky.

Man, I definitely think Hankins is ready for a lot of playing time.

face it fellas, we got pushed around saturday night a lot of the time.

That's not scientific analysis, I just know it was painful to watch.

I agree that having him and Larimore together looked like a good idea against an O-line like that.

Seems like a nice kid, too.

Do you think they would ever utilize big hank in offensive goal line situations. For instance let's say against Iowa it's first and goal at the 3...what if they lined it him up next to the center and qb sneaked it. I would have to believe the guy goes forward even if he's next to a bridge abutment. Just a thought...

My choice is a Mike-tackle-eligible-Vrabel play. Hope the kid has soft hands. :paranoid:

He looked tired this game, especially at end. He stood there without any push a few times. I want to say that he seems "bigger" since the start of the season and could stand to lose some weight for next season.

According to commentary, he was relied on more this game when Simon had to sit out for a bit.
