Preps Football - ChicagoSports.com
Please take 30 seconds to go to the above website where on the right hand side there is a list 0f (16) sixteen Illinois Prep football players in which to choose " THE BEST ILLINOIS PREP FOOTBALL PLAYER FOR 2007" Remember to select 2008 Buckeye DT - DE verbally commited recruit GARRETT GOEBEL OR Do Not Choose At All!!! Also feel free to forward this to any / all entries in your address book!! Your cooperation is sincerely appreciated..thank you!!
FYI - Garrett is not even aware of this nor would he lose 1 second of sleep if he were to receive fewest votes among the 16 players listed.
However my brother (Garrett's father) & I have several legitimate reasons as to why we hope see Garrett at the TOP once voting has ended.(Tom Lemming, Taylor Bell & several other BIASED Chicago Sportswriters, Recruiting Analsyts WHO WILL GO TO ANY LENGTH to see a Notre Dame recruit win any awards, while appearing to dislike the Buckeyes....i.e. Lemming chose SIXTEEN ND RECRUITS for the Army All-American game. When Goebel faced a few ND commits this past season & outplayed/ had his way vs. future Notre Shamers One previously mentioned Chicago writer made dishonest, subjective & condenscending remarks about Goebel
(Watch GOEBEL'S just released ***2007 Highlights, PART 2 on SCOUT.COM..last TEN plays Vs. Sean Cwynar and you can clearly see what I am talking about!!)
Currently Goebel is in 2nd place behind the leader by only 1% - 2%...PLEASE ACT QUICKLY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!!

Big man, little man shining at Ironman
Saturday, December 08, 2007
Pat Galbincea
Plain Dealer Reporter
In a tournament filled with many of the finest high school wrestlers in the nation, two of the best competing Friday in the 14th Walsh Jesuit Ironman Tournament were a backup lightweight and a football player bound for Ohio State.
Goebel took St. Edward junior Mark Horton down to his back with a double-leg to score a 41-second pin in the first round, then used double underhooks to flatten Oak Harbor sophomore Zach Sandwisch in 48 seconds.
So how did the defending Ironman champion wind up as an OSU recruit?
"OSU assistant coach Luke Fickell saw me last year and liked what he saw," Goebel said. "He was a great wrestler besides being a football player, and he encouraged me to keep wrestling at Montini. I felt Ohio State was the right place for me.
"Wrestling has helped me become a better football player. I feel I have an edge over opponents in toughness. Wrestling also teaches you hard work, improves your agility and leverage and ability to hand fight."
