DT Garrett "The Gladiator" Goebel (official thread)

We have coaching, recent success, depth chart, facilities and current recruits all playing in our favor in this one. Why would he go elsewhere? Academics? We are quickly closing the gap in that area as well. As a matter of fact, as far as football team performances our team has outperformed TTUN in the classroom recently as well.

lol. actually, we should probably let them go. allowing them to keep their belts, shoelaces, and sharp objects and not pulling them of the ledges may help thin the herd a bit.

Thanks again for all the updates, I think only a tiny fraction of people on this site were actually in panic mode though. When I read the latest article I had a strong suspicion that you were the one mentioned as such a big help in the recruiting process, keep up the good work.

As for Garrett, where ever this kid ends up.....success will follow. When a kid with the ability that Garrett has, is open and honest about the recruiting process and wants to make a smart decision (as opposed to a "sexy" one), you know they will take the same kind of attitude to the program they end up at!!!

And as always...thank you for your insight into how crazy football recruiting can be XP...its much appreciated

EDIT: I always forget to read the "Don't feed the troll" signs :)

I live in Mich. and I have been telling my friends for months that as long as we get GG I will be happy. - because of need and what dozer said - They've had a little fun with me the last few weeks. So, needless to say I am happy when XP posts something positive.

I second that. As much as most of us Buckeye fans hate TSUN, it is still a great school with great academics and traditions. Even if Voyd moves on, it's not like they are going to bring in a Joe Schmo to coach. He will get the opportunity to play for Big 10 and possibly national championships each year while earning a quality education either way. Garrett really can't go wrong with his choice, although we all know which is better. :wink2:

Thanks again XP, hope you heal quickly.

I just think he fits in better here. Seems like a "no-nonsense" all-business type of kid. We blue-collar Ohioans love that. And we need DTs a lot more that TSUN does.

Tough decision. Hope it goes our way. Seems like a model kind of man we want on this team from what I have read.

:oh:
:io: Never leave a fellow Buckeye hanging....EVER!
