</td></tr> </tbody></table> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="400"><tbody><tr><td colspan="3"> </td></tr> <tr><td colspan="3">A RUGBY player who was thrown off an aircraft at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport after insulting a group of German passengers yesterday admitted drunken behaviour.
Businesman Martin Lafferty, 27, was ejected from the Easyjet flight shortly before take-off on August 4 this year.
He was one of 19 members of a group escorted from the Boeing 737 due to fly to Cologne.
Lafferty appeared before Liverpool Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to charges of being under the influence of alcohol on an aircraft and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Sue Jones, prosecuting, said Lafferty, of Stretford, Manchester, was in a stag party that began insulting Germans.
When he was asked to leave, Mrs Jones said Lafferty became "extremely upset," shouting and swearing at a police officer.
Richard Silver, defending, said his client was of previously good character. "I think it was an isolated lapse of judgement," he said. "Mr Lafferty is a very respectable man.
"He has no previous convictions, no cautions and a clean driving licence.
"Mr Lafferty accepts that he was guilty of being under the influence of alcohol on a plane.
Magistrates adjourned the case for sentencing until October 6 and extended Lafferty's unconditional bail.
