During the down time, I thought (maybe) the internet address had changed. I googled "Buckeye Planet" and found:
buckeyeplanet.net.......apparently a copycat forum
and
buckeyesplanet.com....sells Ohio State stuff
Just wondering: are these a copyright violation or don't you guys have the name "Buckeye Planet" copyrighted?

That said, we don't have BuckeyePlanet trademarked, nor would I likely ever be brave enough to try lest that bring the wrath of the OSU lawyers back down upon us. Then again, I see lots of actual businesses with "Buckeye" in the name -- so who knows. Even with a trademark less-than-awesome folks will often grab variations of popular (at least within our little niche) domain names and put their own moneygrab sites in place.
We are not, in any way, affiliated with the ones you mentioned. And there's little we can do about them.

When we have outages, I post what info I can (and updates if possible) to our Facebook page and (automatically from the FB page) to Twitter. Any and all are welcome to join those for no other reason (if they so desire) than to know what's the what in the unfortunate event of a site problem.
