Doom3 expansion

Just in case anyone is wondering...

I picked up the expansion pack for Doom3... like it a lot.

Couple new monsters... nice

New artifact thingy (lets you slow down time... etc.)

And... You get your double barrel shotgun back!

Haven't finished yet, but the gameplay is different enough that you don't feel like it's just more of the same.

Runs about $35... worth it, IMO.

I was REALLY disappointed with Doom3. The graphics are great and the gameplay good enough, but it's just so repetitive. The environments are all the same (tight, dark, hallways - you can predict exactly where the monsters will be).

As an avid FPS - I expected a lot more from this game. Sure the eye candy is nice, but it only went so far.

Now HL2, that's a great release.

I would have to agree with you Bucks on HL2 being much better then the Doom 3 expansion. That isn't to say I haven't enjoyed playing the expansion but it doesn't compare to HL2.

if you like FPS on the consoles, check out timesplitters 3. very good shooter. very quick moving around run and gun style. fuck that sneaking around shit. me and my brother love sitting around shooting up shit against each other, bots, and online.

doom 3 kind of sucks. on the xbox it is even worse but you get old dooms with it so it is probably worth the $.
