Does your wife overspend?

Best Buckeye

Pretending I'm a pleasant person is exhausting.

While walking thru my house today I noticed that a few clothes were piled up outside dressers. I also noticed that my basement isnt one. Outside of a "trail" my basement is filled with xmas stuff and toys in a play area for the grandkids.
I consider this "overspending" but she just said yes it is and to stop picking on her.

yes, but in her mind she is a saver. Here is an example of Mrs. Nasty math

New Shoes for Kid (retail price) $60
On Sale $40
Savings $20

In my wifes mind she did not just spend $40 on shoes, she just saved us $20.

My wife is frugal in that she typically only buys stuff on sale and clearance, but she makes up for it by buying shit we have no use for just because it was such a good price. I recently dropped off an entire rubbermaid of kids clothes to our church, and they all still had the tags on them.

PS. $60 for a hair color and all that other shit is cheap. I am pretty sure it costs my wife over $100. Although the receipt is not itemized, she may have got the happy ending.

Nope

I have my wife do the bills so she knows exactly what we have to spend....

She used to be bad, but she's good about it now.

Even though now and again I'll encourage her to spend some money on herself. It's like she went from one extreme to another....

This is slightly off topic, but a sister of mine used to work for an attorney whose clientele included many divorcees. She had lots of horror stories about pissed off spouses running up credit cards, etc., prior to, during, and after the divorce.

Thank God for good marriages (knock on wood).
