This is the way the system is and the way Clarity wants it. Do I like getting anonymous dings? No, but I rarely get them or any ding for that matter. If it is that big of a problem for you maybe "your" on the wrong site.
I think that if your going to give people the power to rep, you should make them be responsible for their actions.
With power comes responsibility.
Turn your rep off if you don't like being dinged.
If it keeps coming up, then it must still be something to look into!
It should be a simple change. It's been requested numerous times.
I always sign mine, especially when dealing with morons who use the wrong word in a sentence. Here, let me show you...
Seriously, did'ja ever think that maybe everyone noticed the last eighty-seven times this was brought up, and maybe people have thought about it, perhaps there has been discussion, and perhaps a conscious decision was made to leave the system the way it is for some good reason? (Hell, even if it's for a bad reason or for no reason at all, how about giving the admins, who have repeatedly proven themselves to be more than capable of running a pretty fabulous ship around here, and who, from my experience, all seem to have nothing but the soundest and most reasonable of judgment, the benefit of the doubt here...)
You've whined about dings one too many times and it's getting out of hand. If you're starting threads just to respond to anonymous reputation dings, there's going to be a problem, particularly if you do it regularly. Remember, the reputation system is optional, you can turn it off. Also remember that sometimes you just have to blow off people abusing the system just to get under your skin. Also consider the possibility that there may be some merit to the ding. Either way, please cut down on the 'ding whining'.
So, I suggest we probably just quit complaining, and enjoy this website.
