Do you know how to tie your shoes correctly?

Seriously, I just learned today from the linked website, and by noting the difference when I followed the instructions contained therein, that I have been tying my shoes incorrectly, using a weak slip knot rather than a stronger reef knot, for the last thirty years or so. Check out the site and let BP know if you have been tying your shoes correctly.

I went in assuming I was doing it wrong, but alas I was correct. After reversing my starting knot and pulling I found that the way I currently tie my shoes holds while reversing the starting knot makes it slip.

I use the reversed slip knot, but it doesn't matter since I also tie the "bunny ears" an extra time to use up more shoelace. Playing in the woods, big loops would always get caught with leaves or twigs.

I use the standard, but after reading this...

I tie my shoelaces with an "Ian Knot", the World's Fastest Shoelace Knot: Make a loop with both ends and simultaneously pull them through each other to form an almost instant knot. It's a truly revolutionary way to tie your shoelaces!
