As an old Eagle Scout I like Hiking in with a pack and staying a few nights. Something like Philmont.

These days as a man with 2 girls and a girly wife my version of camping is much tamer. Big ass Tent and Cots, only out overnight.

I have done the camping for 3 days with no shower thing but that was due to the Army requiring it. It does get pretty nasty when you can't get completely clean. Baby wipes are a must have when camping. I enjoy camping in a tent with a fire to cook on. My husband and I just bought a camper and a lot so we will probably be there almost every weekend during the summer. I think the great thing about this place is the fact that there is a swimming pool. Now if I could just get him in it!

I went camping once. It was either last year or the year before. Can't remember exactly. But I know it was in July

Well it was at Portage Querry, like 2 miles from the Bowling Green Campus. It was a big event involving my dad's job. So we decided to make a weekend out of it.

We were "told" that there was showers and restrooms at the camping areas. What we weren't told was that the "restrooms" were really "Porta-Johns", which there was only like 4 for the whole area of about 300 people over the weekend. We also weren't told that the shower was a pole coming out of the ground with a shower head on top, with only cold water.

It was a miserable weekend. The temp ending up dropping to 40 degrees the two nights we stayed.

Lets just say, it wasn't the best experience in my life.

I could get into camping, as long as it involves some ammenities. No electric, but not totally primitive either.....
I am the same way, but we're talking some serious moderation here. As I've gotten older, I'm leaning towards the RV route now.

We bought a large tent and some sleeping bags at the end of last summer, but never wound up using them since every weekend either got rained out, or we came up with issues with travel time, kids, or whatever. The only time the tent was ever assembled was in the back yard the day we purchased it, checking to see if all the parts were there.

My only requirement is a fire, I can go tent, or big ass RV it does not make a huge difference to me. Sometimes when we have a bunch of people we will sleep outside the RV in the screen room or pop a tent up next to the RV. Although having the RV is nice when the weather gets shitty.

How do you not remember if it was last year or not? It hasn't even been 12 months, how can you not remember last july? I could understadn if it was 10 or 11 years ago...but less than 12 months? come on teddy!!

As for camping, I love it, I to am a former eagle scout and when you get to go camping it's great. Gotta love getting away from everythign for a few days and being able to relax out in the wilderness.
