Do you do your own taxes?

I have never done taxes ofcourse. Never had a job where I've made more than $600 in a year. But I think the people who go out to get them done either...

1. Don't know what they are doing and don't want to mess up on them

2. Know what they are doing, but are not sure, and don't want to mess them up

3. Don't have time or they're just lazy.


My grandfather does my parent's taxes.

Some people just don't know where to start.

If not, you should have.

I'll be using EZ as soon as I get my financial aid statement from the stupid Dept of Education.

I finally got My last W-2 today. I pretty much alway use the EZ version, and then have My mom go over it to make sure I didn't fuck anything up.

Not really sure.

But my grandfather does taxes for a lot of different people. He has done our taxes since my parents have been married(About 20 years). So I think my mom just likes to stick with him. Plus he does ours for free.

Turbo tax checks for errors for you.

If you can read and type, you should be able to do them on your own.

I use TurboTax for the federal, and do the state by hand myself.

Bringing forward the prior year's data is a nice benefit of using something like TurboTax. Avoids typos on SSN's, etc.

I do my own. My wife is convinced that sooner or later I'm going to prison for tax evation though.
