What the fuck was that for? You don't agree that you shouldn't show love for each other all the time -- it should just be on a day invented by Hallmark? I have no problems with people who do celebrate the day -- fine by me. I celebrate most traditional holidays -- just not this one (or Sweetest Day, or whatever the hell it's called.)

That's an urban myth perpetuated by postmodern cynics; while Valentine's cards go back almost 70 years before the founding of Hallmark, the celebration of the day itself is part of ancient Christian and Roman tradition.
