Do you believe in Ghosts?

I voted yes as well, because I had a one-time experience a years back that was quite frightening.

In short, me and my friend were watching his older brothers children, and he had told me that the house was haunted, but I thought it was bull shit. We were going to sleep out in the family room, and the front door was dead bolted shut, and as we started to doze off it unexplainably busted open. I still get chills thinking about that.

I am not sure. For a while I thought I did because there was something creepy going on down at the Johnson family farm. But then this group of meddling kids showed up with this funny talking dog in a stoner van. Next thing you know they figured out it was Old Man Peterson trying to get them to move away.

And you know, he probably would have succeeded if it weren't for those meddling kids.

So, I am still on the fence.

I have never seen any scientific evidence suggesting anything paranormal is reality. Until a shred of evidence is revealed I cannot believe this stuff.
IMO people's minds are very vulnerable to delusions when going through stressful periods in life.

That's a reasonable and rational response. I had an event that occured one night back in HS, however, where I was completely NOT stressed. Long and short of it is my Girlfriend claimed she communicated with her dead grandmother. So, I said, "Well I always think I believe in ghosts, but I'm not sure. Can you have her turn out the light?" Well, long story short, about 5 minutes later the light went out. It sounded like the filament popped, and that's what I said when it happened. My girlfriend said, "Nope. Go ahead and turn it back on" Sure enough, it came back on.

Now, I don't say that to convince you, of course, that Ghosts must therefore be real. I'm just saying that some (many?) of the events that people describe as evidence for Ghosts don't involve stress situations (ie death of a family member) or the like.

I can understand that. I was probably generalizing a bit too much.
I would love for there to be evidence in ghost. That would be a completely new science that could answer a lot of questions that humanity has been asking forever. I would just like to see one of these "communicators" perform in a controlled environment.
Kind of off topic but has anyone heard about the challenge that the Amazing Randy has had for the last 20 years or so? He offers 1 million to anyone that can scientifically prove that they have evidence of paranormal events. Cant find a link but interesting stuff if you ever have time to look it up.

yes... the funniest thing was that she was late a few times becaause of traffic... you think she would have known and left earlier.
You just have to love those morons who believe enough in the psychics to call into the shows, but start out with "Hi, my name is Bob..." :)

Morons....

If there were really such a thing as a "psychic" they would be the richest person in the world... from the lottery, blackjack, roulette, whatever, instead of taking advantage of poor ignorant toothless dumbasses on the radio and tv.

Then I Saw Her Face - Now I'm a Believer

Not a trace of doubt in these bobbies minds
Of course, with it being a pub you'd expect some quality spirits to be on the premises :tongue2:

Police See Paranormal Activity in Pub <!-- END HEADLINE -->
<!-- BEGIN STORY BODY -->Tue Apr 25, 4:57 PM ET

British police responding to a call about a possible break in at a pub in northern England Monday found themselves in the middle of a ghoulish riddle.
Officers arrived at the Low Valley Arms pub near Barnsley in South Yorkshire, 250 miles north of London, after being told the alarm had been set off, but instead of finding any signs of a robbery, they were faced with a shaken landlord convinced he had encountered a ghost with half a face missing in the ladies washroom.
Though they saw no ghoul_ described as a woman in flowing white gown_ officers were shocked to find toilets flushing themselves, said Inspector John Bowler of South Yorkshire Police.
Pub landlord Roger Froggat, 55, and his wife Kathryn, 49, moved in a year ago and said they had seen nothing before, despite rumors of a resident specter.
"I heard the alarm go off for a second time, went into the pub and all the television screens had turned on," the pub owner said.
"I went to check the rest of the pub and standing in the women's lavatories was a woman with half her face missing. I was petrified."
Officers found no signs of forced entry and were left quite scared, Bowler added.
Since the ghost story became public, the pub has become the talk of the town, attracting everyone from mediums to a national television film crew determined to catch a glimpse of the mystery woman should she appear again.
Despite their shock, the Froggats said they have no plans to leave their village pub.

I don't see dead people, but I do see folks dead from the neck up every freaking day :wink2:

I knew a psychic that was very good at her craft. She could seriously tell you things with only your name and birthdate within minutes of meeting you. She was big into astrology and was very good at picking up what she called vibes. Just from knowing her I would have to say that I "could" believe in ghosts. I don't believe in them though because I'm one that likes to have proof that something exists.

I have a degree in physics, so for the most part I'm a show me scientific type. That said, I have seen a few things in person that I cannot explain. My parents own a 200+ year old farm house in Pa. A few things have happened there that to this day remain unexplained.

Nope. You die, you go to heaven or you go to Hell. There's no in between.
(Purgatory is not in scripture anywhere)
Also according to scripture , there very well may be demons that rome around. They are not human ghost. They are fallen angels.
Better look under your bed tonight!!!!!!
