DL David Patterson (Official Thread)

I think it is a matter of getting the top four D-linemen into action... also the fact we haven't really taken many DE's over the last couple years, might indicate we are thin at the positon, and any of the DT's with speed might be moved over...

agreed, gbear.... i think the coaches want the top four on the field.. as long as they feel like the player is capable of making the switch. plenty of talent at DT, but maybe patterson is too good to keep off the field, and he's the DT most capable of switching to DE...

kinda like moving scott inside last year.

David Patterson - a.k.a Warren Sapp

I think the sky is the absolute limit for this kid. If he can get himself into playing shape he is going to be an absolute stud. He reminds me of Sapp without the mouth. He plays low and just has an absolute explosion. I noticed on a couple of plays on Saturday he was all the guards and centers could handle...

With Green, Pitcock, Abdallah, Penton, and Maupin - It is almost unfair...

Patterson looked good but Pitcock looked really good. On the play where he chased Guidugli out of the pocket he showed speed you just don't see out of a 285 pound DT. We are loaded in the middle, we just need some speed rushers on the outside to go with them.

Info

No he did not play, I wish he did tho!.... I did see him tho and he's huge! he'll most likly red shirt IMO. I thought Green had a very solid game as well. I also have a question guys how did Kudla and Richardson do? I was in the South Endzone so I didn't really see them too well, because they only scored on the North End Zone so they never got too close into view.
