Disney collecting fingerprints?

guess we'll need to put glue on the tips so they cannot get the actual prints, next time we're down there...

I was there in April and they were scanning a lot of folks... my wife and I didn't have to do it with our tickets (long story, let's just say they were old tickets that never expired)...

That's funny... I was thinking fingernail polish.

We also have the never expiring old tickets for everyone but our youngest... I wonder if they're scanning the kids too... that's I think what causes me the most concern.

Buro,

They were scanning everybody... and they've idiot proofed the machines. It has a red light, that turns green when it is finished reading the print. So the ticket taker will not let you put your ticket into the scanner, until the red light turns green...

That leads to my next question. They put the tickets through a machine that checks the ticket (just like the airlines have machines for boarding tickets), Unless they have crappy software, one would think they could track every ticket through the machine... I'm not sure how you could get in with a fake ticket (their reason for finger scanning)?????

Think I am the only person that believes every place should be able to take fingerprints, check for criminal records, citizenship, etc. Subways and stuff should definitely do it. I got nothin to hide, they can have my prints.
I'm torn on this. I think that they actually are not being forthcoming on why they are really taking fingerprints. If it is for security then tell people that don't use the b.s. excuse that it is to look for fake tickets. I don't have a problem with them trying to find ways to make places like this more safe, but tell people that.

there are easier ways to stop conterfiters. they all but stated their real reasons:

Disney officials said the scans help keep track of who is using legitimate tickets
hard to say what the intent of this type of data collection is for. maybe they are trying to figure out who their core customers are? mapping visitors to their home states? either way, the info they collect will without question be sold.
