For you puckheads out there thaat have Direct TV you can get NHL Center Ice free for the season. You can also get ESPN Gameplan free. I got this from the Slickdeals website (thanks JWins). DTV no longer carries Versus due to a disagreement with Comcast. Versus carries the NHL as well as some college football games.
1) Call the DTV 800 number.
On the prompt, tell them "cancel service" as the reason for the call.
2) When cust service answers, repeat that you want to cancel your service. They'll then ask why.
3) Tell them you're cancelling because they dropped your favorite channel for NHL hockey and college football: Versus.
4) They will say they're sorry but will then offer you Center Ice and Game Plan free for the season, if you stay with them.
5) Sit back and enjoy the NHL season and Saturday College Football.
I did it yesterday and it worked like a charm.
