Devin Gardner (Receiving Entity)

While I do think the kids actions during the game were very classy and human. I do have to ask, what do you think would have happened if he ended up in C-Bus? Do you actually think he would have played? Look at how deep our quarterback talent is.
It's hard to say, really. While largely a mess, Gardner did at times flash immense talent as a QB...look no further than The Game in 2013. He was carving us up...though granted, our D was a sieve in 2013. But there is definitely talent there. I have a feeling he could have been really good in tOSU's system with Herman and Urban's coaching. Of course, that brings up the Gardner vs. Braxton debate...and who knows what would have won out there. Both are excellent runners, but Braxton has a clear edge there. I think with some proper coaching, Gardner may have had a slight edge as a passer, but who knows. He seems like a good kid, just ended up a terrible QB under a lousy coaching staff behind an awful OL.

My guess is that, he could have played as a WR.

2015 Shrine Game: Five prospects who created buzz among NFL scouts

WR Devin Gardner, Michigan (6-4, 217)
Although he saw reps at wide receiver earlier in his career at Michigan, Gardner was understandably rusty as he made the transition from quarterback to wideout during practice this week. But while he struggled on Monday, Gardner consistently improved throughout the week, adapting well to the coaching. He fine-tuned his routes and showed better focus downfield to finish catches in contested situations, using his top shelf size/speed combination to create mismatches. Gardner could be a prospect who continues to gain momentum throughout the process as he makes strides at the new position.
