Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

D Sedins 2 goals were not all that great IMO ( one bounced off of Lid, and the other howard was on his back on the other side of the net)but a goal is a goal. Not taking anything away. Trust me in know the Wings score a lot of shitty goals.

Luongo, if he play half as good as he played last night, Van will make some noise. Very impressed with him last night. Did he get really lucky, yes. But thats part of it. if it wasnt for the wings only playing the last 8 mins, he wouldve had a SO. Very very good goal tending last night both side IMO. Neither of those howard good do a thing. mad some great saves to keep it close. was a great game all in all. Wings had there chances in the final 3-4 mins

Nick Lidstrom Drive: Red Wings captain gets another huge honor Thursday

A huge chunk of Red Wing fans knew only one "Captain" for most of their lives: Steve Yzerman. When he retired in 2006, there were huge questions whether anyone else would ever look right wearing the "C" on a winged-wheel jersey.
Nicklas Lidstrom deflected all worries by taking over the captaincy with grace, class and aplomb. Young kids who are just now getting into hockey here in Detroit will remember Lidstrom as the captain from their youth.

If you guys are going to keep saying Crosby dives, since he hasn't done it any more than the majority of other NHLers (I'd say less, honestly) since his rookie year, I'm going to say that Bertuzzi is the dirtiest player in the league and doesn't deserve to be playing.

Players and fans are alike

If Detroit fans acted like their team, I might actually like talking to them. The team = humble. Their fans blow that to shit, though. :)

Red Wings lose Bertuzzi early against Blackhawks after he hits Blackhawks' Johnson in the head

Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi has been called for a 5-minute elbowing penalty and a game misconduct against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bertuzzi hit Blackhawks forwardRyan Johnson in the head 5:17 into Monday night's game.

Johnson went down to his knees and gloves for a while before slowly getting up. He went off the ice and toward the dressing room, but played later in the first period.

Bertuzzi was ejected for a check that might've gone unpunished before theNHL started to crack down on such high hits.

Matt Cooke of the Pittsburgh Penguins was suspended for the last 10 games of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs for elbowing defenseman Ryan McDonagh of the New York Rangers in the head.

WORST HIT EVER :!

Not sure what you're trying to say, I don't like Matt Cooke either. He's effective when he's not suspended or in the box for something stupid. Unfortunately, he does too much of both for me to want him on th Pens.

I figure he'll be gone next year. The Pens aren't happy with him either.

I love how everyone hates Crosby. If people had watched him since his rookie season, they'd know that he doesn't dive much (I can't remember him diving at all for a long time) and hasn't done anything to be called a bitch, other than be the best player in the league.

Haters gonna hate.
