Desmond Howard (traitor and whiny btch)

“I was just talking to a friend of mine before I came out here for the draft, and I said, ‘I’m just not a fan of the trajectory of college football right now,'” Howard said. “I do not like where it’s headed. Now, I’ve been pounding the table for guys to get NIL money because I think they deserve it. You need to get paid for your name, image and likeness. There’s no doubt about that. But when you just place it in our lap with no real rules and no real regulations and say, ‘Here, have at it,’ it then becomes the wild, wild west.

“So, it’s a double-edged sword. They should get paid; they should be able to transfer. Coaches do it all the time. We have coaches who leave where they can still make the Playoff, and they jump ship. So, if coaches can do it, players should be able to do it, too."

As of now, there are no apparent checks and balances for NIL or transfers, and seemingly no repercussions for tampering.

"There needs to be some sort of rules and regulations behind it, and to me, that has been the biggest problem. You hate to see this for the fans more than anything,” Howard said.

Just sayin': OK, he's right on this one; but he's still an asshole.

He’s salty because that school up north either won’t engage or hasn’t figured out how to engage in the Wild, Wild West.

If there are no rules, by definition, there’s no tampering. Schools will have to be willing to bring a gun to knife fights for the players they want or get left behind. Staffs and schools that figure out how to manage things in this world will be the ones who thrive.

Agreed, watch GoBlow boards and you’ll see this as a preemptive “we just don’t hand money out like BAGMEN” defense when they make 6 straight trips to the Outback Bowl

There better be some rules and regulations soon or the long term outlook for the sport doesn't look bright.
