Desert Island Discs - In My Youth

When young the Beeb would always run Desert Island Discs during the week on Radio. They had a rule (which thankfully is being set-aside here) of 3 discs, and

annoyingly if the guest was boring

you had to explain your choices.

Anyway here are my top list discs to take .. in no particular order.

The Beatles - Sgt Peppers, Revolver and White Album

The Stones - Some Girls, Exile on Main St and Let it Bleed

Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die, The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys

Love - Forever Changes

Dylan - I'll go with Sushi on The "Z" man, little he has done can be left behind, but if I were forced to shoe-horn say, JUST 3, I'll take Blonde on Blonde, Highway 61 Revisited and John Wesley Harding (the last because I know all the words of every song with instant recall).

Neil Young - Harvest (Crossed an Ocean for a Heart of Gold), Live Rust and American Stars & Bars (You Are like a Hurricane has to be heard).

Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey, Astral Weeks and Moondance (sheesh, I'd better not be alone on this island)

Robert Johnson - the Full Collection

Zappa - Hot Rats (I can never get enough of Don Van Vliet's vocal and Luc Ponty's violin).

Miles Davis - Anything, but don't forget Bitches Brew

Hendrix - Band of Gypsies, Axis Bold as Love & Rainbow Bridge

And a couple of favorite really old (i.e. classical) records

Beethoven's 9th Opus 125, and Dvorak's Dances.
