Been a long time since I went there on a date with my future wife. It will be a shame of they tear it down with the old trolley still inside.

This is where we went to celebrate big stuff as a kid. Absolutely loved it. Thought it was about as good as it got restaurant wise. Lol. A Columbus curiosity, unique to my part of the world.

Then when I traveled for work for a few years in my late teens and while out looking for a place to eat we passed one in Holyoke/Springfield Mass and i was devastated lol

You refer to your wife as “the old trolley”?
Beware!

I used to go there with a buddy and our girlfriends a lot. My buddy and I prided ourselves on how much bread we could down. We ate 24 once in one sitting. The girls probably had 1 loaf.

I can remember going there as a kid too. Man, what a special occasion that was. All the cool shit to look at.. the trolly... and the food was pretty good as I remember. Of course, it's kinda hard to fuck up spaghetti.

We Americans have such little regard for the past. Falco, Smith & Kelly, Weiler and Kelly and their associates have made many millions from housing and small retail in the Columbus area. I met them when served on the apartment association back in the 1970s. Bright young guys that clearly were going somewhere.

So, I am amazed by the notion that they can't get it together to get that trolley out of there.

I get that it would be very difficult to get that trolley out of the building without damaging it, but you can't tell me they can't organize funding to get that trolley out of the building as they begin their demolition. Hell, cut it into pieces and donate it to COSI or the Ohio Historical Society. That is a real piece of history from a century ago. In my opinion, shameless.
