What happened to my ¤cash?
So, say you happen to be the coach of tOSU, one JT himself. You're closing in on the end of a season and you've got The Game coming up. You know that you have a bit of a reputation for not stepping on the other team's throat when you've had the chance. What do you do, provided you've got the opportunity, during RR's first game against you?

Simple. You play for fieldgoals.

you don't embarrass them becuase they will be back next year.

That's debatable. They are not good this year and they will not have a good recruiting class coming in.

From the Dayton Daily News
Michigan?s 17 commitments so far give it the No. 15 class nationally, according to Scout.com.
Trouble is, Ohio State has 25 commitments and ranks No. 1.

In the past two years SCUM has been in the No. 10 to 12 rankings. Will they have a good team next year?

What would Jim Tressel do?
He would call the plays he feels are necessary to win the game. He's smart enough to know that a 7-6 win is the same as a 49-3 win. He's also smart enough to know that a 7-6 win is only one play away from a 13-7 loss. The Buckeyes will play "Tressel-Ball" - they'll do what they can to control the tempo of the game, control field position, limit Buckeye mistakes, and maximize opponent mistakes. If that play style translates to a 49-3 win, so be it, but it sometimes translates to a 13-6 loss.

But to answer your question, I do not believe that any amount of "embarassment" factors into Jim Tressel's decisions. I believe his thought process is
1. Get the lead
2. Get a comfortable lead
3. Burn the clock

This is one of those threads that has the potential to become a legend on UM boards.

Once does not play dice with the Michigan Game.

Agreed, you'll see my response below.

This is exactly the point of my question. How do "we as a community" think JT will manage the game? This isn't an attempt to get peeps to say, how they would handle it, but to get peeps to provide their impression of how they think JT will handle it. We all know that there are pleanty of "go for the juggler" folks here at BP.

Personally, I've been pretty clear in other posts about my love for scoring and fun and gun... and personally, I don't think that JT and I would manage the game in a similar manner at all. 'Tis why he is the highest paid state employee of Ohio and I'm not.

I wasn't going to vote, as I was the one who started the poll, but now I've pretty much played my hand. I think that JT would keep it to a reasonable number, that is... do nothing to provide motivation in the coming years. However, I don't think that with a reasonable score and the game more or less in hand, that he would put on the brakes... perhaps let off the gas a little, but no brakes.

In a couple of weeks we'll have our answer.
