Deaths Of Notable Sports Figures (R.I.P.)

Does anyone else remember Tom Browning as the 'workhorse' of the Reds staff? Believe he amassed more innings than the rest of the staff combined (might be a tad exaggerated here). Anyway, my brain gets a bit fuzzy at times. Remember those A's (Sal Bando), when was living in SF. Would hop BART, drop us off at Oakland Colesium, walk across bridge to stadium, and purchase first base tickets, four rows from field, and this was during the second of three World Series runs the A's made. Reggie, Blue Moon, Eckersley, Ricky Henderson, Catfish, and the rest of the crew put on a show. Those were enjoyable times.

Groat was the UPI Player of the Year in college basketball (1952) and selected 3rd overall in the NBA draft. After 2 seasons with the Pistons he opted for baseball because the money was better. All he did in MLB was become an 8-time All Star, and NL MVP in 1960. What an athlete.
