Leroy Keyes, a two-time All-America running back at Purdue and a College Football Hall of Fame member, died Thursday. He was 74.

Keyes, the only two-time consensus All-American in Purdue history, finished third and second in Heisman Trophy voting in 1968 and 1969, respectively. He set team records for career touchdowns (37), points (222) and all-purpose yards (3,757). In 1987, he was voted Purdue's all-time greatest player as the program celebrated its 100-year anniversary.

Keyes was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1990. He was selected No. 3 overall by Philadelphia in the 1969 NFL draft and played both running back and safety for the team.

In 1968 Purdue came into Ohio Stadium #1 in the country. Leroy Keyes was Purdue's star running back. The week before the game, I remember someone hung a sheet out the windows on the end of Steeb Hall facing the south oval that said "Screw Purdue, and Leroy too". #4 Ohio State beat them 13-0. Ohio State's "super sophomore" class had arrived. Check put the box score for that game: https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/1968-3-Purdue.pdf

This one and Sensibaugh are hitting pretty close to home. As a Sophomore the first OSU football game I attended was the 13-0 game in the video. And I clearly recall that "Screw Purdue and Leroy Too" banner.

These guys are like my age. WTF
