What is best in life? Besides Muck's response from Conan (which has to be the best documentary about the life of Conan - and who doesn't get pumped up with the theme music?), my answer is as follows:
5. Watching Ohio State defeat Arizona State in the Rose Bowl.
4. Watching Ohio State defeat Michigan in 2005.
3. Being in the 'Shoe, watching Ohio State defeat Michigan in 2004.
2. Watching Ohio State defeat Michigan in 2002.
1. Watching Ohio State defeat Miami for the 2002 National Championship.
Maybe that's not to the spirit of the question, though. How about this answer...
Standing on the tee box, the sun is just rising behind you, the dew is still on the grass. You blast your drive straight and true, the ball may not roll as far as it would later that afternoon, but your approach to the green is dead on. A 6-foot putt for birdie, and you're feeling pretty good about the rest of the round. "Maybe I'll beat 80 today?" you think, as you pull out your putter. You wait a couple minutes for your buddy to chip out of the sand, and you pull the flag while you wait for someone to putt out of your way. You line up your shot - looks flat enough. You swing the putter a couple of times to get the feel for it. Everyone, even the guy who likes to stick his undercarriage in the hole in an attempt to screw someone's easy putt for bogey, is perfectly still and quiet. They all respect the birdie putt. You step up to the ball, and you think to yourself, "You miss 90% of the putts you leave short." Then, you think about that guy who really believed that you actually make 10% of the putts you leave short. How do you make ANY of the putts you leave short. Then you think about how funny the word "putts" is. Finally, you pull the club back, and tap the ball toward the hole. Slowly it rolls, straight to the hole. It drops into the hole for a birdie 3.
Unfortunately, if you're me, you hit maybe 3 more fairways the rest of the day, and only 4 greens in regulation. You end with a 93.
