Bishop McDevitt DE Noah Spence schedules official visit to Ohio State
ANDREW P. SHAY, The Patriot-News, December 05, 2011
One of the country?s sough-after recruits at his position, Bishop McDevitt defensive end Noah Spence, has not taken an official recruiting visit this fall.
That will change later this month.
The 6-4, 245-pound senior is scheduled to visit Ohio State on December 17 ? one day after the PIAA Class AAA championship game.
Spence?s father Greg confirmed the ?official? visit Monday evening.
Recently honored as the Gatorade Pennsylvania Football Player of the Year, Spence has 90 tackles, 26 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks this season. The Crusaders play Montour Friday in the PIAA Class AAA semifinals.
Ohio State was not on Spence?s original list of finalists he announced prior to the season. Penn State, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State and USC were the schools Spence was most interested in.
With the hiring of former Florida coach Urban Meyer as the new skipper of the Buckeyes, Ohio State is now part of the picture.
Spence is slated to make his final decision January 5 at the Under Armour All-American Game in Tampa.
