DE Nick Bosa (Pro Bowl, All Pro, 2019 ROY, 2022 DPOY, San Francisco 49ers)

I think Nick understands that I bought a #97 jersey with "Bosa" and he needs to make sure I can wear it relevantly for another 3-4 years. But seriously, Joey is as much of a stud as possible and I said immediately in his thread that he would be a star. Nick is better at this point. I cannot guarantee he will be better but right now Nick is better. Best DL prospect I have seen period, in all of my years of watching recruiting.

I know basically less than anyone about grading anyone as a prospect, but are you saying he is more impressive than Jadeveon Clowney was in high school?

I think it's probably similar to looking at Terrelle Pryor versus Peyton Manning.

Pryor was without a doubt the more impressive physical specimen coming out of HS, but it was a pretty safe bet who the better QB was going to be.

So while Clowney was the most impressive physical specimen in decades, Bosa plays with better technique, understanding of the game, motor, heart and nastiness.

It seems like a safe bet Bosa will be a more productive/disruptive/effective college defensive lineman than Clowney was.

Edit: I just looked at Clowney's stats which are amazing through his first two seasons in college.

So let me rephrase by saying that both Bosa's are highly likely to have better college careers as long as they don't have hugely disappointing junior seasons.

Part of Clowney's problem his junior year was consistent effort and part was the quality of players around him (allowing offenses to focus entirely on blocking/avoiding him).

The Bosa's will be in much better shape in both regards at Ohio State.

Rivals$--Relationships key for Bosa

John Bosa says Joey will have zero influence on Nick as they hope the older Bosa will be gone for the NFL by then anyway. Instead, the most important factors are the coaching staff and S&C program. Nick grew up a bigger Buckeye fan than Joey.

This article smashes any talk about Nick "living in Joey's shadow". Mr. Bosa says it won't be an issue, due to Joey & Nick being extremely close.

I just saw a picture of Nick, Joey and their dad together (Easter weekend in Columbus). Nick is just as tall and big as Joey. For some reason I was under the impression Nick was a couple inches shorter when I first watched his highlights.

I re-watched his 2014 highlights after knowing how big he really is and it's just insane that a guy that big moves that well. I didn't think it was possible to be much better as a college DE than Joey Bosa, but Nick Bosa has a chance. Such a monster as a HS junior. Can't even imagine how good he'll be in 4 years as a college junior with 3 years of Marotti and Larry Johnson pushing him to improve.

Nick Bosa is the most important recruit of the next couple classes. Luckily things are looking good for the Buckeyes.

When we land Nick, I'm hoping that will show Gary from NJ that he truly has the opportunity to be apart of a very special DL haul for the good guys. Could you imagine a haul of Cooper, Bosa, Gary, and others? We will need it too seeing as how we lose 3 starters up front after next season.

Must have grown a bit, as he was definitely in the 6'3-6'4 range and Joey was in the 6'5-6'6 range but hey I will take it. Hope he jumps on board early...a DE class of Bosa, Hall, and Cooper is probably the best we have ever had here.

Yeah, I had always heard 6'3 or a little taller as well.

It's a little tough to tell, but I think he looks about the same height as Joey in this pick. What do you think?

I don't have the references handy, but I recall Nick's Dad saying Nick would go to school wherever the best defensive line coach was and best strength coach was.

So it does help that someone somewhere said Marotti is the best:

And I do distinctly remember that Joey Bosa said that LJ was the best dline coach in the nation.

In summary, one can never rely very much on statements form parents or recruits, but the news could be worse.
