When former Ohio State football player Mike Vrabel got fired as the coach of the Tennessee Titans, it was very surprising. Vrabel had established himself as one of the best coaches in the NFL. In fact, he was the NFL Coach of the year in 2021, just two seasons prior to being fired.

What's even more surprising is the fact that Vrabel didn't get a head coaching job somewhere else. He was shut out of other jobs for mostly silly reasons. He's now a consultant with the Cleveland Browns for the upcoming NFL season and he'll have another shot at landing a job next year.

Ohio State football fans have been hoping to make a run at him if Ryan Day fails to succeed this year. If Day loses to Michigan yet again, he'll be fired. Would Vrabel entertain coaching his alma mater? According to a recent interview, he won't shut the door completely.

Talking in an interview on Pardon My Take, Vrabel was asked if he ever would consider going back to college to coach. Vrabel didn't shut the door on doing it at some point. He did talk about how much the college game has changed and that there are a lot more headaches with it now, but he didn't outright say no.

Vrabel would be a great addition to the Ohio State Buckeyes if Day isn't going to be the guy who will be leading the program much longer. He's great at getting the most out of a less-talented roster, something the Buckeyes have had an issue with in recent seasons.
