Whitmer Alum out for OSU Spring Game

On Thursday, Ohio State released their rosters for the annual spring game on Saturday.

After looking through both rosters, one local name was missing, Kenny Hayes.

The Whitmer alum is a red-shirt freshman defensive lineman for the Buckeyes this season.

On Friday, we were informed by an OSU spokesman, "He's dealing with a medical issue."

We asked if he was still on the team and the answer was, "yes."

That's all we know.

We spoke with Hayes when he was back in Toledo attending one of brother Nigel's basketball games, in January. He told us he felt great and was excited to play for Urban Meyer.

Per a tweet from Tim May, Hayes has asked for and received a release from his scholarship. I remember he had recurring headaches, but wouldn't he get a medical waiver if that was the reason?

Being told by a source close to the team that Kenny Hayes is likely done playing football altogether because of health concerns.
