DC/LB Coach Jim Knowles (Official Thread)

This guy freaking gets it down to the minutia. Might take him a minute to truly understand what The Game means but only James Patrick Tressel's arrival has had me more excited than this. He has a whole bunch to work with and I can't wait to see it.
Indeed his unwillingness to speak on how to fix it until he has more time looking at the tape and players says a whole hell of a lot. A lot of people would come in and just say yeah the scheme was trash my scheme will fix it.. Vs the analysis he's doing

My favorite thing so far from him has been the premium placed on being able to make near-real time adjustments. Paraphrase: sometimes things go sideways, we want to already know what to do in response and be able to implement it W/O having to wait to make halftime adjustments.

Wait, what? You mean you don't just have to take the same kick in the balls over and over and then maybe or maybe not adjust things at the half, what?

I was rather pleased with the “we want to play multiple defenses from the same looks, and not have the offense know what’s coming based on our formation” comment.

I love that we went out and got the country's best DC, and his various defensive assistants/apprentices, and Harbooger got a Vanderbilt position coach who had worked for his brother. Fuck them, we're about to kick off another decade run.

It’s like Ohio State is trying to do what Michigan did last year on D and Michigan is trying to do what Ohio State did.

I’m confused by your tactics, Michigan. But I’m gonna keep acting tough until I figure it out.

We aren't though cause we didn't ask our brother for a loan

Not that I'm an expert on history, but Genghis Khan never asked for anything. He took what he wanted and if someone didn't like it, his head was posted on a pike.
Ohio State takes the DC they want.
*ichigan takes the DC's they are permitted to have.

That's how you take over most of Asia. Or win something like 9 outright conference championships in a 20 year span.

So our empire is doomed to be split among 10s if not 100s of offspring when we die?
