DC Jim Knowles (Official Thread)

I read, and it seems anecdotally correct to me, that Ohio State was blitzing an abnormally large percentage of the time against Texas and the RB out of the backfield weakness was a direct result of that.

I assume they were trying to 1) change things up to break tendencies and 2) recognize and counter Texas’s talent that they tried to disrupt rather than react to.

I imagine Ohio State/Knowles will be able to get back to dictating the game without taking risks they might get burned on against ND given that their QB struggles to throw and their WRs aren’t elite.
If Leonard takes some of the shots he has, but it’s Ransom, Simon, Styles or Downs laying the hit, he isn’t going to finish the game.

Those guys are punishing people.

I love it he says "The same play got me twice. I got over aggressive and they got me."

I dont know why but because he says they got ME instead of they got US made me respect him even more. Kids seems to have finally figured out why they are supposed to be where they are and when this past 7 or 8 games. Since Oregon part 1 basically

Cause he's taking responsibilty for the play call just like Dillingham did at the end of the ASU game.

He uses "We" when describing successes and "I" when discussing shortcomings. We did a great job tonight..... I need to put them in a better position

That's how leaders talk.
