Firefighter suffers heart attack during North Linden fire | The Columbus Dispatch

Columbus Fire Lieutenant Mike Polaski went into cardiac arrest at a fire late Saturday night. He was revived by crew members and transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Polaski played for Woody '66 to '69.

Prayers to the Polaski family and the brothers and sisters at the CFD.

Damn! I played against Mike in High School (a long time ago). A good guy, though I didn't know him well.

I guess if you've got to have a heart attack, you could do much worse than having it while surrounded by a crew from the CFD.

Here's hoping that Mike Polaski gets well soon. 37 years fighting fires? Wow. That's a long time.

As a boy, I sometimes rode my bicycle down to that fire station to sit with my uncle and a man worked for my father part-time. They were both firemen there. I just looked on GoogleEarth and the fire station looks pretty much the same, but my how the neighborhood has changed.
