Like with Ross Douglas, likely ScoutingOhio just updating his profile...not an actual indication of when the offer cam through. Have to think the Cal staff would be smart enough not to waste the Internet on an email to verbally offer an Ohio kid who is committed to Ohio State.

Recruits deal with unknowns on social media

Like most high-profile college football recruits, Central Catholic's Jayme Thompson encounters scores of fans he does not know.

"These kids are known all over the place," said his father, Deon Thompson. "Guys come up all the time asking, 'Hey, can I have an autograph?' Can I have a picture?' And you're just taught to be polite. 'Sure no problem.'"

But Deon Thompson believes his son's recognition requires added vigilance. He knows virtually everyone Jayme, an Ohio State commit, interacts with on social media. Dad has the password to Jayme's account on Twitter and vets his 3,400-plus friends on Facebook.

"I'm probably a little more overzealous than most," said Deon Thompson, a social worker.

Jayme impressed everybody with his coverage ability during the camp this weekend, and was in peak condition as well. Loads potential here. Cam could potentially get up to "Safety weight", so it could he and Jayme as ould Safties in this years' class.

Cam is a HUGE corner. I think he has the skills, speed, and hips to be a corner, but he could easily be 215 if not bigger.

On a side note, Thompson and his dad are stand up people. They are both really into MMA IIRC.

When looking for videos on YouTube of Jayme for a highlight tape, he actually had some that were of his martial arts. I think it was jiu jitsu, but I can't look them up here at work.
