Ohio State football: Top cornerback picks Buckeyes
By Tim May
The Columbus Dispatch Friday January 20, 2012
TROTWOOD, Ohio ? Cornerback Cam Burrows of Trotwood-Madison not only wanted to be the first commitment to Ohio State?s 2013 football recruiting class, he wants to help with the roundup.
?To know that I?m the leader and to have people just want to come play with me, it?s a great honor,? said Burrows, who announced his choice of the Buckeyes in a ceremony yesterday at his school.
Burrows won?t even turn 17 until June, and he can?t sign with Ohio State until February 2013, but such leadership has come to be expected from him, Trotwood-Madison coach Maurice Douglass said.
?God has blessed him with favor, God has blessed him with all the intangibles,? Douglass said. ?I think because of those characteristics, those are some of the reasons why they came and pursued him. ? He?s going to give you everything that you look for in a kid because he is going to make good decisions off the field.?

Trotwood junior verbally commits to play at OSU
Big, speedy cornerback Burrows is Meyer?s first Class of 2013 commit.

TROTWOOD ? In the end, what had been so hard to decide came down to simple reasoning.
?I know that I have what it takes to be a Buckeye,? said Trotwood-Madison standout Cameron Burrows.
With that, one of the nation?s most sought-after cornerbacks verbally committed to play football at Ohio State University on Thursday at the high school. Just a junior, he is the first in new coach Urban Meyer?s recruiting Class of 2013 to commit.
More are likely to follow soon. That would include Rams teammates George ?Bam? Bradley, a senior safety, and junior linebacker Michael McCray. Bradley remains uncommitted but has received an offer from OSU. McCray has not.
Also, Middletown junior quarterback Jalin Marshall will verbally commit on Jan. 31, the day before current seniors can sign binding national letters of intent. He also has been heavily recruited by the Buckeyes.
It?s been a busy time for OSU football and area standouts. Just last week Vandalia Butler senior offensive lineman Taylor Decker announced he was switching to OSU after previously giving a verbal commitment to Notre Dame.
?There wasn?t any reason to wait,? Burrows said. ?It was close. I kept changing up my mind.?
He said he chose OSU over LSU, Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Clemson.

Owner of a 3.5 GPA, Burrows ranks No. 7 academically in his class. He intends to graduate early and enroll at OSU in January 2013.
Turning point in Burrows' recruitment was when he came to practice and Meyer stopped what he was doing to talk to him.
Meyer then took Burrows around the practice and was introducing him as the best cornerback in the nation.

What do you guys think of his teammate, Isreal Green?
Yeah, if i remember correctly he rushed for over 300 yards. One of the 1st runs in that highlight immediately reminded me of Marshawn Lynch's "beast mode" TD run vs the Saints in the 2011 playoffsMercerBuck85;2093821; said:I would love to see Isreal Green get an offer. However, I like Isaac and D. Green better.
I went to see Burrows, Bradley, and McCray, but left saying who the hell is #3!?!?! Green completely blew me away during the Beavercreek game.
