Down 0-10 early, Massillon rallied back to beat Warren G Harding 46-24. Danny had a pretty rough start, lost 2 fumbles in the first quarter, the first of which was, uh... hopefully a learning experience for him. He responded well though...

Quarterback Danny Clark had his best night throwing the ball of the season, completing 13 of 16 passes for 203 yards. Those 13 completions were spread around to seven different receivers, which didn’t even include leading receiver Reggie Rogers, who did not play

Clark really has no pocket presence and that concerns me, yes he's only a sophmore but in their first 2 regular season losses last year he was sacked 16 or 17 times (dont remember which and those were the only games i attended), and he seems to be taking alot of hits again this year.

WGH has experience on their defensive line with Iowa commit James Daniels & D1 recruit Ja'Von Provitt. The problem is that they're inexperienced everywhere else on defense. They played well in spurts last night. They led 10-0 in the first quarter (could have been as high as 21-0) before Massillon got hot and scored 29 unanswered points (26-0 in the 2nd quarter). Fitch & Massillon are the two best teams on WGH's schedule, so I'm not too pressed about the 95 points that they gave up to them at this stage of the season. Last night's effort was still significantly better than what they did in week 1.

Be that as it may, I'm well aware of Clark's skill set and a few mistakes in one game, especially for a sophomore who is only getting better, is no reason for a red flag. Besides, one of his "fumbles" was a pass that was ruled a lateral. He rebounded and did what great players do. His potential is pretty scary.

no it couldnt have been 21-0 or it would have been, thats how football works. it either happens or it doesnt. and i agree, WGH plays a really weak schedule so they could still finish with a decent record.

Were you at the game or are you just commenting on something that that you read? I didn't say that it "should" have been 21-0, but WGH had enough opportunities to go up 3 TDs before Massillon even crossed the 50 yard line. Then again, like you said, it's football and things don't always go your way, especially when you're playing against one of the most tradition rich high school football programs in the country. Say what you want about WGH, but they showed up to play. That said, Massillon doesn't lay down for anybody and they deserved the win.

I won't flood this topic with WGH stuff, but fans consistently hype up recruits that play against competition significantly weaker than what WGH plays against. That said, a 15 year old just went 13-16 for 203 yards against his school's 2nd biggest rival (Canton McKinley is #1) & you criticize him for making a few mistakes against some of his better opponents? What do you expect him to do?

Where did i critique him anywhere outside of saying he has to cut down on the sacks vs terrible teams like WGH? im sorry your too biased to handle the facts i guess, and yes i was at the game and WGH never had a chance to go up 21-0 they were dominated the very vast majority of the game.

HA! I guess that sophomore QBs should also block for themselves then, huh? Old news though.

Starting tonight, Massillon has Steubenville, Austintown Fitch, & Youngstown Ursuline for the next three weeks. After Akron Garfield, they close the season with Akron SVSM & Canton McKinley. Clark will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his talents against more great programs. I wish him nothing but the best of luck moving forward!

Yeah. :bored: He's 15-16 years old. Being concerned about any part of his game at that age is ridiculous. He has 2+ seasons before he even gets to Columbus. That's plenty of time to learn.

Like a playdough can to be molded into something great. Except, in this case, it's scarlet and gray colored, comes in a pretty awesome package and has pretty sweet instructions with it on how to build a great QB. Should be fun watching him grow.

Couple of Elite passing camps certainly won't hurt him at all.
