    • Just heard she died last night at the age of 44 from lung cancer.

    For those of you who may have forgotten, she was Christopher Reeve's wife.

    She was a non-smoker.

    SHORT HILLS, N.J. -- Dana Reeve, who fought for better treatments and possible cures for paralysis through the Christopher Reeve Foundation, named for her late actor-husband, has died, the foundation said. She was 44.

    Reeve died late Monday of lung cancer, said Kathy Lewis, President and CEO of the foundation.

    "On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and staff of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, we are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us," Lewis said in a statement.

    Wow,how sad. I know she fought hard for her husband & herself. I really thought she was starting to make a turn around on the cancer. She was very a very brave lady.
    Both my parents are cancer survivors. My mom had it under her tongue,& my dad's was in his small intestine. He had to go through chemotherapy & the whole 9 yards but is fine. My moms was so isolated she never had to under go radiation or chemotherapy. They just cut around minimal portion of her tongue! They are so lucky & so am I to still have them here today.
    So there I was begging for a mammogram,they kept denying it saying I'm not old enough. Age does not play a roll in cancer. Finally since the history in the family they approved it. Wow,what pain.They hurt,but worth it. My moms sister died when she was 40 ish. She had a rare form of it,it grew on the outside of her belly. Enough said. I don't mean to depress anybody but seeing the doc is important. :sad:
