Damon Wilson (DL Georgia, transfer to Mizzou)

Stupid decision unless he's hired an accountant and someone to invest his money right off the bat.

His growth and NFL potential is not going to improve at Mizzou.
He could get hurt and never play a down in the NFL. You take the most money now. It’s the smart play.

Yes! Taking the money now doesn't mean you don't want to still make the NFL and develop. Other schools besides OSU have put players in the league
Oh I don't think he couldn't develop. But he was set to start next year at Georgia and chose to go to Mizzou that's a weird decision. Ohio State, Penn State, Mich, Texas? One could argue he got and is somewhere of equal development/chance to win the NC. I'm not sure any of that is true at Mizzou. He'll probably still be drafted in the 1st round and make a shit ton. Just not maybe top 5-10 and a chance for glory.

It's a new game in CFB. Blue bloods no longer have an advantage when it comes to recruits and transfers. If a second-tier program like Mizzou is willing to pay, that's where he's gonna go. See also, the #1 recruit in the country committing to a program with major sanctions hanging over its head.

Surprised it wasn't Miami or USC moneyh weather and women. ASU would be interesting too. But money goes further in Missouri so there is that

Missouri has put some D linemen into the league. However, it seems like the kid is only about the bag. He made a financial decision when committing to UGA and now the going to the highest bidder is his highest priority.

Who says he still can't get drafted in the top 5-10, 3 of the top 5-10 picks this upcoming draft will be from Miami and Colorado. And the chance of glory/NC talk is more a fan's wish than every player caring about that. If every player wanted to win an NC so bad, they wouldn't choose places like Ole Miss, Indiana, Texas Tech, etc. Get paid what you can in a violent sport, that you have 1% of making it to the professional level.

Alex G elaborated on what happened with Damon Wilson:

What I will say is that before he visited, that trip almost got thwarted by an ask from the Wilson camp that was egregious, if I am putting it nicely. OSU kindly declined, but the bluff was called and the Wilson camp visited anyway.
I posted when Wilson became available that OSU was looking great unless someone made him such a big offer he couldn't refuse. I do believe that's ultimately what happened with Missouri here.
Best of luck to Damon.
He said Ohio State was not going to do something for Damon Wilson that they haven’t done for anyone on the rest of the team.
