Dallas Cowboys (Official Thread)

Romo's injury is probably a blessing. Might as well see if Prescott's impressive preseason play translates to real games because this team isn't going anywhere, anyway. The defense is a still a mess, and the 4-12 result last year wasn't just a lack of Tony Romo.

It should mean a lot of work for Zeke behind the Cowboys' strength, their offensive line. Meanwhile, Jerruh will keep blowing smoke up his ass - and the asses of willing fans - about how close they are to a title. As a lifelong fan, I know what championship Cowboys teams look like. They haven't looked like one for quite a while. :ohbrother:

Romo should have hung them up 2-3 years ago. Dude is going to get himself killed. Literally. As for the team, they won't be terrible...but they will be on prime games way often than the team deserves, because they're the Cowboys.

Someday, maybe Jerruh and Company will get serious about addressing the defense. Until then, they won't be serious contenders. I feel bad for Romo. He's been better than he's often given credit for and has had to carry a sad sack defense for most of his career. But his latest setback gives me a chance to see if Prescott can be the next QB sooner rather than later, and you all know I love having our boy EzE toting the rock.

What the hell, at least they can never take away the five SB trophies.

I hope Jerruh goes no where... his Jerruhisms are the best

latest:
You don't have to spend a lot of time going over and kind of circumcising the mosquito.

yes that is a direct quote from Jerruh on whether or not to IR Romo.

Dak Prescott leads a game-winning 4th quarter drive, Zeke runs much better (but fumbled twice - cut that out, young man), and the much-maligned defense comes up with stops the last 3 Redskins possessions to make the lead stand, 27-23.

I've learned to enjoy every win now. They've been much tougher to come by this century.

140 yards for Zeke tonight and a home win over the Bears. Still not sold on the defense but I'll take 2-1. Prescott continues to look like he can be the Cowboys QB for the next 10 years.

I am really impressed with Prescott. Late in the game last night he threw an out route from the middle of the field to the sideline, and released it late too, and the DB still had no chance to break on the ball. Of course, it's the Bears, but there's no doubt Prescott has an elite NFL arm and is pretty darn advanced at scanning the field.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I thought the Cowboys would take it to the Bengals that way today. I'd also be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. :gagnam:

Zeke is leading the league or tied for the league lead in Yards (546), Yards/G (109.2), 1st downs (31), 1st down % (28.4), runs of 20+ (5), and runs of 40+ (1). Zeke's 546 yards rushing is more than 22 other NFL teams.

Glad to see him have so much success yesterday on just 15 carries. His 30 carry workload against the Bears was an apparent attempt to get him over the hump, and it clearly worked. Now the Cowboys have to scale that back quite a bit. The 400 carry pace (plus possible post season) is a lot to put on him if they want more than three or four years out of his career.

Dak has just broken Tom Brady's record of 162 pass attempts without an INT to begin a career.

You jinxed him! Finally threw one 15 passes later, but after winning by 14 at Lambeau I'll let it slide. :gagnam:

Oh, and Zeke torched the top-ranked run defense in the NFL with about 150 yards.
