CWS pitcher Humber 4/21/12

I forget where, but it was pointed out there is nothing in the rule book about a check swing...so it is really up to the ump, they really have nothing to go by, whether it's the barrel of the bat, the wrists or whatever...

Every time I see it, it really doesn't look like the barrel goes around, but the his wrists do

Yeah, it's an extremely subjective process.

if the barrell passes his front hip in the act of a swing it is supposed to be considered an attempt and be counted as a strike. Of course, for a home plate umpire this is impossible to see.
