The only that really sucks is that the 2 stud DE's-Ben Martin and Solomon Thomas of Lakota West are both very pro-ND, and Thomas is apparently not enraptured w/ OSU at all, but, his coach is pro-OSU. I think Martin is ND's to lose, unfortunately.

Don't forget about Joey D'Andrea and Eric Thomas...

I don't know if that guy is lying, but I doubt he has special information. Most seem to think he is UF's to lose. The FSU and UF "insiders" feel that way. I don't know for sure though. He could go anywhere. I would just be very surprised to see OSU get a recruit out of Florida that all 3 in-state teams recruit hard.

I hear what you are saying, but the draw of a cousin and a friend that came from the same school and one is going to the league and will be drafted in the first round has to have some merit, and it isnt like we are a bad school.

FSU, if they lose to PSU is only going downhill and UF just recruited 37 WR's so there is an oppurtunity.

Is it safe to say that OSU is going into next years' recruiting class a little more focused and organized then this year.
It sure looks like the state is loaded and we already have some OOS kids interested. It just seems to me the planning and targeting for 07' is in full swing with a lot more early offers unlike this year.
So here's my questions.. Will JT increase the talent pool next year based on the in-state and OOS talent available who are interested in OSU or because this year's recruiting method kind of backfired on us or both???
I think we missed on some kids from Ohio because they were not recruited early and then we tried to get back on them when our original offers went elsewhere. Can we afford to do that again next year????

Thanks...great stuff and very informative posts

Really all we missed that we offered late was Thomas. We went after Boren real hard and though we had him, and I don't think the staff really wanted Thomas until he impressed them at camp, and then they waited to long. I really don't think the staff is losing any sleep over that one.

I think most of the reasons for us holding back on offers are grades, and if we miss on a kid like that, well what do ya do.

I really hope the '07 class has taken the grade issue to heart and focused on it

So I figured I would give a little update, since we have some more offers out now. Here are the 07' guys with offers at this point.

Dionte Allen
Josh Ogelsby
Ben Martin
Donnie Evege
Arrelious Benn
Nate Oliver
Evan Blankenship
Kris O'Dowd
Joseph Barksdale
Taurian Washington
Eric Berry

Nice list I see this growing with in the next couple weeks to, with offers to instate guys and some out of state guys.

There is also another Torrence at Canton South playing linebacker and has amazing messurables as a high school sophomore. He was part of the Canton Repository all Stark County team (Div 2&3). When I saw his measurables I was shocked. I'll see if I can find a link......:osu:
he's a sophmore this year and he is a little bigger than devon he had 117 tackles before the last game and he missed 2 games because of a head injury so he would be 140+ tackles if he had played counting the last game. He also played fullback in the wing T and had close to 500 yards. He throws tackles off of him like crazy.
