Cowboys(-4.5) at Cardinals

The Cardinals got screwed by the refs at least twice in this game. The first was a fumble by Romo where the blew the whistle WAY too early. He had barely been touched when the stopped the play.

The second was the Romo fumble in the end zone. On the replay they cited the tuck rule and ruled it an incomplete pass after the replay. My question is: That "pass" by Romo that went incomplete was a backward pass if you pay attention to the direction the ball traveled in the air on the way to the turf. How can they rule it a pass attempt without regard for the direction the pass traveled? Even if that was truly a "pass", it was a backward one and a live ball, and therefore a fumble, which was recovered by Arizona for a TD.

Wow, headed to OT after a wild turn of events. Cowboys were down 10, got a huge catch-and-run by Barber, got the ball back, and then got a completion over the middle to Witten with 14 secs left. As they were running up to spike the ball with 4 seconds left, one of the Arizona defenders was back at the original LOS injured and got tagged for offsides. This set up a 52-yd FG which was blocked, except that Arizona had called TO an instant before the snap. Cowboys make the second attempt.

What an amazing sequence at the end!

The Cardinals took a 5-yard penalty when the Cowboys were just outside of FG range because they couldn't get an injured player off the field. They had timeouts, they could have used one and not drawn the penalty when Dallas spiked the ball.

THEN, Wisenhunt called a timeout to ice the Dallas kicker. It was one of those that happened right at the snap, so the players played through the whistle. The kick was blocked, but the play had already been blown dead. The Dallas kicker then nailed the FG after the timeout to send it to overtime. Oops.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals, but I was rooting for the FG there so they would make the over. As long as they don't end this thing in a tie or with a safety, they'll get to 51 points now.

This has been a crazy game.

The Cowboys' performance on the field continues to be less than the talent on the roster. Their special teams' play today was a joke, and it cost them the game.

Wade Phillips...not ready for prime time.
